Greetings from the Cherokee Photography Club:

 

 We are proud to announce that hosting efforts for the North Georgia Photo Club Team Shoot-Out are well underway. The day of the event is September 13th  from approx. 8 AM until 5 PM (time subject to revision). The following clubs have verbally agreed to participate and we are excited to be hosting this grand event that will bring together many (if not all) photo clubs of North Georgia for a day of fellowship, photography, and pure fun!

If any of you are aware of other photo clubs in N. Ga., please advise us of their whereabouts.  We are looking to have 10-15 clubs for this event. We do not want to miss anyone, but space is limited. Please check for information, registration, and updated news on the event at www.cherokeephotographyclub.com    We will be posting all guidelines, registration, event details, etc. for the event.

SHOWCASE PHOTOGRAPHICS HAS AGREED TO SPONSOR THE EVENT. See attached prize fund.

North Georgia Photo Club Team Shoot-Out

 

September 13, 2008

 

Canton, Ga. @ the Fine Arts Center downtown--------rain or shine

 

 

General itinerary:

 

All participating clubs will be required to pre-register by mid-August (final date to be determined) to be eligible for the event. Registration fees yet to be determined ( from $250.00 to $400.00/ club. The $ amount will depend on the sponsorship we can obtain. All proceeds in excess of expenses will be returned in the form of door prizes and increasing the prize fund.

 

Registration from 8 AM-8:45 AM on Sept. 13, 2008 for each participant of each club.

 

Five categories will be selected by random drawn and shooting begins approx. 9 AM

 

Lunch will be provided at a cost to each who choose (lunch is optional) . We are in the process of securing a downtown restaurant to be open for lunch within walking distance of the event for less than $10.00/person.

 

10 images from each team (club) in each of 5 categories turned in to official computers by 2:00 PM. There will be 5 computers (one for each category).

 

A two hour window for all who attend from 2 PM until 4 PM to visit vendor /sponsors ( Showcase, Nikon, Canon, Epson, etc) for demonstrations and equipment display/sales. Possible 30 minute presentations set up by each vendor. Vendors will be available all day.

 

Three independent judges will select images in each category for awards and team points.

 

At approximately 4:00 PM-----Slide show of images-----then Awards to 1st and 2nd  and 3rd  in each of 5 categories….$ amount of prizes to be determined from sponsors and registration fees.  Team points awarded to 1 thru 10th  place in each category. Team trophy and team awards presented to team with the most points from all combined categories. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams recognized and awarded prizes. Door prizes to be drawn at this time also.

 

Event to end at approximately 5 PM.

 

Participants must be a member in good standing with the club they are representing.

Any member belonging to more than one club may only represent one club (their choice).

INDIRECT COST ASSOCIATED WITH THE EVENT TO THE SPONSOR:

Promotional and advertisement materials by SHOWCASE for the event-------

- Canon, Nikon, Epson, Olympus, Tamron, etc. as vendors to set up, display, and

   promote their products.

-Cherokee club to furnish 2-6 foot tables for SHOWCASE

-Vendors to furnish all related tents, tables, etc. as needed for their displays.

-Location of all vendor displays at the discretion of the Cherokee Club. See next page!

**This prize fund based on +200 participants and attendees at the event. If fewer than    200 attendees, prize fund may be adjusted by the sponsor.

 

Each participating club will be assigned a 10ft x 10ft space to allow their members to bring any of their used equipment to sell at the event. The participating club will be responsible for providing a tent (if so needed), and staffing the space. CPC will provide one 6 foot table for each club at their site. Participating clubs may bring their own additional tables if so desired for their assigned space.
